How to make a link from your blog posting on blogger.com to your website:

When doing a blog posting, select the word or part of a sentence in your blog you want to make the link – what I normally do is make the link to my website homepage, or a specific page in my website, or the website I want to link to in my specific case, at the end of each posting – please see http://www.travel-southafrica.blogspot.com/ . So, select the part you want to make the link, as below:

Once selected (highlighted), click on the icon I have indicated in the screenshot above with a rather jittery red arrow. This screen opens:

You want to make the link to a website – your own as a norm as the whole idea here is to create an inbound link to your website every time you do a posting on the blog – so TYPE must say http://, and URL must start with http:// as in the screenshot above.

Now decide to which page in your site you want to make the link to. Let’s use our website –www.o5webdesign.com as an example.If I want to make the link to my website’s homepage, this is what I will fill in here:

That link will take the person who clicks on it once I am finished, to the homepage. Sometimes I want to make links to inner pages of my website – maybe the blog posting is applicable to the content on one of my inner pages. So I will decide which page – then the easiest is to copy & paste the URL of that specific page to use here to make the link:

See where I circled it in red? Select (highlight) that and copy it. Then paste it in on the blog:

NOTE – see how it displays here – ONLY ONE http:// - followed IMMEDIATELY by www.yourownsite.co.za/

Now click OK.

Now click PUBLISH POST

That is it – view your blog and click on the link to check that it works correct – all done. Now do this every time you do a posting, and in doing so you create a valuable inbound link to your site every time.

Making Money With A Blog

You are already well aware that blogging is a great way to make your voice heard - but did you know that you could also make some money through blogging? Blogs are huge nowadays; they are growing faster than any other aspect of the media and investors and advertisers have begun to notice. You may not have ever thought about making money from your blog before, but if you want to start, now is the time to get into it. There's many a blog out there which are making money for their owners; and there's no reason your blogs couldn't be one of them.

One way to make money from your blog is to sell ad space on the page. A lot of blogs get into arrangements with pay per click advertising companies who place ads on the sidebar or across the top if the page. These ads do not interfere with your content and will hopefully advertise products which will appeal to your readers. The advertiser will pay you a small fee each times these ads are clicked in exchange for your hosting the ads.

Another way to make money is to rely on the generosity of your readers. Many blogs leave up requests for donations along the bottom of the page or along the side. Essentially, you may consider this a tip jar, where your readers can throw a few dollars your way if something you wrote especially benefited them. While you should not expect much money this way, some readers do appreciate a way to show their appreciation

When you want to make money from your blog, one way in which you can do so is that you can use it to draw attention to the services and goods that you offer. If, for instance, you sell pet supplies, you will find that devoting an entry to specific products or service that you provide can go a long way towards getting you the attention that you need. When you are looking to make sure that people come to your main website, be sure to put plenty of mention regarding it on your blog. On your blog, you can offer special insights into the product themselves, and you can even make special offers for your blog readers. This will have the effect of drawing more people to your blog as well as directing them to what you are selling.

You can also make money from blogging if you join up with a blog network. In these networks, you'll write for a specific purpose and get paid for the traffic you pull in or by the entry you write. These networks ensure that you'll reach an audience and get paid for your blogging efforts; however, you will have less latitude about how you blog and what you blog about.

When you want to make money blogging, remember that there are plenty of ways to do it. Find the method that most appeals to you and make sure that you think about what you can do in order to make the most out of it!
